Stay away from powders and rouges and liquid bases. For daytime all you really need is a little blusher for your cheeks and some pale lipstick. For a special occasion, a little eye shadow subtly blended on your lid and a dash of mascara.

The idea of makeup is to highlight your best features, not to hide them. And most boys don’t appreciate a girl who’s too heavily made up. She often comes off looking like a circus clown.

POSTURE: Girls have a tendency to slouch when they’re standing. How you stand and how you walk are two very important things when trying to attract a guy’s attention.

Stand tall with your shoulders back and head held high. Practice walking with a book balanced on your head. It’s an old exercise, but it works. Walking is not just something you do to get you someplace.

Your steps should be so smooth you almost glide. It’s much more graceful to walk with one foot directly in front of the other than it is to just place your feet down side by side.

Try walking with one foot in front of the other. It’s a little different than you’ve been used to. If you can practice in front of a mirror, you’ll see that if gives your body one single line for an observing eye to follow.

HANDS: Your hands should be feminine and attractive looking. The nails should be clean and tapered, and of medium length. Try and give yourself a manicure at least once a week. If you want to polish them, stick with a pale or clear shade, but most guys prefer the more natural no-polish look.

CLOTHES: What clothes you put on your body are almost as important as the body beneath them. Now I don’t mean you have to run out and buy a whole new bunch of clothes. You can have a simple and inexpensive wardrobe and look a hundred times better than a girl who has spent hundred of dollars on her wardrobe. The secret is style and maintenance.

Select clothes that are becoming on you. If everyone is wearing hip-huggers and your hips just don’t look good being hugged, then stay away from that style. You won’t be out of it because you’re not wearing the same thing, and you could make a fool of yourself by wearing something that looks terrible on you.
