  • In the June 1-7 TV Guide, page 3, the following quote:
"Given that even Car 54 Where Are You? got made into a movie, Gilligan's Island would seem a sure thing. But corporate mergers and executive shuffles have even stranged Gilligan (Bob Denver). 'It's so complicated,' says creator Sherwood Schwartz, who had better luck making his show The Brady Bunch into a film. Still, Schwartz isn't giving up entirely. He intends to pursue another idea: The Brady Bunch on Gilligan's Island. This time he says he'll bypass the glacial pace of feature production and just pitch it to TV networks."
(**Note from Brady World - remember this is just an idea of Sherwood Schwartz, not an anouncement of a movie coming).

  • Jeopardy takes on a Brady theme. On Saturday night's episode in the first round there was a whole category devoted to the Brady Bunch! The $200 clue was about who won the role of Mike Brady over Gene Hackman (Robert Reed), the $400 clue which Monkee took Marcia to the prom (Davy Jones), the $600 clue which middle daughter said "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" (Jan), the $800 clue Peter's famous line "Pork chops and ___" (applesauce), and the $1000 clue Greg's alias at the studio with Tami Cutler (Johnny Bravo).

In Double Jeopardy the round categories resembled the names of all six Brady children. Plus, the correct response of one of the clues (about "Song of Norway" in 1970) was "Who is Florence Henderson?"
